A Bowling Masterclass
South Africa’s bowlers set a ground throughout the day for what can be best described as T20 bowling at its best. After the captain decided to bowl first after winning the toss, something the Afghans would soon regret. Afghanistan, after being bowled out for 135, were no match to the formidable South African pace attack spearheaded by Player of the Match, Marco Jansen.
Jansen, especially, was terrible for us. His figures of 3/16 in just three overs gave the Patriots the kind of start they had always wanted. The tall left arm pacer was able to exploit height to disturb the Afghan batsmen right from the start. His victims were the dangerous ones, namely Rahmanullah Gurbaz and the experienced Nangeyalia Kharote.
But Jansen was not the only one who excelled with the ball. The entire South African bowling unit worked in perfect harmony.
